Description

The new silver coin «Switzerland» offers a fascinating representation of our country in all its facets. The design is characterized by attention to detail, with numerous symbols representing the diversity and unity of Switzerland.

On 12 September 1848, with the federal Constitution, modern Switzerland was born, a federal state created by the merger of the cantons. This date is honored by the issuance of this coin, which pays homage to our federal structure. This structure is central to Switzerland's innovative strength, dialogue and national cohesion.

This special coin symbolizes Switzerland and all its cantons. The obverse of the coin depicts mountains that evoke the Swiss Alps, a railway in reference to the dense railway network, the edelweiss as the emblematic flower of the Alps, a quartz crystal that recalls the mineral wealth of the Alps and a bridge that symbolizes the technical infrastructure. The cogwheels refer to watchmaking and the cheese symbolizes the famous Swiss dairy tradition. On the reverse the flags of the 26 cantons are depicted.

The special coin "Switzerland", 20 grams of 999 silver, impresses among other things with the impressive attention to detail on the reverse. The face value of 20 Swiss francs is also shown. The coin is issued in a circulation of 4,800 pieces in "mirror ground" quality in a case, 200 pieces in "mirror ground" quality in a case with artist's certificate and 7,500 pieces in "uncirculated" quality in a blister packs.
