Description

The obverse of these collectible coins depicts Alexandre Dumas facing his iconic characters: the Four Musketeers. They point the tips of their swords at the author's nose, as if to challenge him. The famous phrase from the novel is inscribed on Dumas' shoulder: "One for All and All for One." His name and dates of birth and death are inscribed at the top and bottom of the coin, and the year is in its neck.

The reverse is common to the entire "L'Art de la Plume" series. It contains several emblematic quotes such as "Le meilleur est l'ennemi du bien" by Voltaire, "Lasciate ogne speranza voi ch'intrate" by Dane Alighieri, "To be or not to be that is the question" by William Shakespeare or "Was mich nicht umbringt macht mich stärker" by Nietzsche. A feather is engraved in the center of the coin. Below, the title of the series is present. The mention "RF" is present at the bottom right of the coin as well as the punch of Joaquin Jimenez and the engraving workshop.
